VIDEO: Ukraine’s new horror drone is like the dragon from The Hobbit!

Ukraine's FPV drones have become a nightmare for Russian forces, and it's only getting worse. Now, a fire-breathing "dragon" has emerged!

The video shows a drone raining fire down on Russian trenches, reminiscent of the dragon Smaug spreading destruction in Tolkien’s book. It’s reported that this type of drone uses thermite as its weapon. Thermite is a pyrotechnic mixture of metal powder and metal oxide.

When ignited, thermite burns intensely, producing a large amount of light and heat. The burning thermite creates a liquid slag that can reach temperatures up to 2500°C. The burn time lasts around 2 minutes, which is enough to cause significant damage.

This type of munition is extremely effective for destroying various targets like observation posts, trenches, vehicles, and armored vehicles. The drones’ maneuverability and real-time visual feedback allow operators to select and attack targets with precision, making them highly effective. While such incendiary munitions were previously used to cover large areas, they can now be used for very effective (read: deadly) precision strikes.
